Learning the Lessons Committee publish latest bulletin

The Learning the Lessons Committee has produced its latest bulletin on lessons drawn from reports and information on investigations which the Committee receives from the Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) on a regular basis. This bulletin explores learning from investigations into the police use of force in a variety of situations including: • spontaneous incidents involving the deployment of firearms officers • stopping and searching people and vehicles • restraining violent people, including suspects and people in police custody. The Learning the Lessons Committee is a multi-agency committee that has been established to disseminate and promote learning across the police service. Its members include the Home Office, IPCC, National Policing Improvement Agency, Association of Chief Police Officers, Association of Police Authorities and Her Majesty’s Inspectorate of Constabulary.
